Feature
It understands callers in their own words
Nobody orders "one 3pcs BAKLAVA". A caller asks "Can I have the three piece of baklava?", and Zogu adds the 3pcs BAKLAVA and says "One three-piece baklava".
Vague orders
Asked for a doner kebab on a menu with three, Zogu answers: "We've got the Lamb Doner Kebab, the Mixed Doner Kebab and the Chicken Doner Kebab. Which would you like?" It names three at most, never a count, and leaves meals out unless asked.
A follow-up like "With cheese." is about the kebabs just listed: "Sorry, the Doner Kebabs don't come with a cheese option. Which would you like?" And "What else do you offer?" gets a rundown of the menu's sections.
Ums, pauses and interruptions
- "Yeah", "mhm", "okay" or "um" while Zogu talks doesn't stop it.
- "Actually", "wait" or "no" cuts it off straight away. So do four small words in a row.
- Line noise with no words doesn't cut it off.
- "Can I have a margherita", a 4-second pause, "and a coke please" arrives as one order.
- After 12 seconds of silence: "Take your time. Let me know when you're ready." Another 12 and it ends the call politely.
- A plain "yeah" to an offer gets the choices; to "Shall I place the order?" it places it.
When the line mishears
A "name" that sounds like a menu word and wasn't heard clearly gets "Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Could you say it again?"
The backstop is the read-back: nothing goes to your POS until the caller says yes to the whole order.
Unclear words are matched by sound against what was just offered, so "the hot" after a list of burgers finds the 1/2 POUNDER BURGER.
Nothing internal is read out
The model's working notes, tool names, code-like text and bracketed notes are stripped before anything is spoken. <think>They want pizza. I should list them.</think>We have margherita. becomes "We have margherita. What can I get for you?"
Shorthand is said as words: 2pcs JALEBI w/ CUSTARD x2 comes out as "two-piece Jalebi with Custard times two". Staff test items like Burger 63066 are never offered.
Teaching it your words
Nicknames and local words need teaching. Missed phrases go on a list, and the Teach page is where staff link them to items, add shop words, answer questions or fix pronunciation. Changes work from the next call. Our team sets these up for you.
Questions and answers
How accurate is Zogu at taking phone orders?
Items and prices come from your POS menu, totals are checked, and the caller says yes to one read-back before anything is sent.
Does it cope with strong accents?
It asks again when it can't hear, and the read-back catches the rest.
Does Zogu pick up new words on its own?
No. It only uses a new word once someone adds it on the Teach page.
