Feature
Two add-on offers at most, and a "no" ends them
Once a caller says "that's all", the agent can offer a dessert, a drink or a side from your menu. Two offers at most, and the first "no" ends them.
What the caller hears
The line is in Zogu's code, so it sounds the same on the last call of a Friday night as on the first: "Would you like a dessert? We've got" and up to three items from that part of your menu. A pick goes straight into the second offer: "One Baklava, four pounds. Would you like a drink as well?"
For example:
Agent: "Would you like a dessert? We've got jalebi, ras malai or baklava."
Caller: "Hi. Can I have the three piece of baklava?"
Agent: "One three-piece baklava, four pounds. Would you like a drink as well? We've got bottle of water, Cola A can or Cola B can."
The caller took three Cola Bs, and the agent went straight to the one read-back. Anything else on the menu can still be ordered.
The rules it sticks to
- "Anything else?" is only asked while the caller is still choosing.
- Two offers at most in a call. An offer the AI slips in while the order is being built counts as one.
- A "no" or "that's it" ends the offers. A kind of add-on is offered once.
- Any extra offer the AI writes after that is swapped for the next question before the caller hears it.
- You can write the question yourself, or turn offers off.
Then comes one read-back, and nothing is sent without a clear yes. See how the one read-back works.
Why it stops at two
The caller has said they're finished, so every question is one more thing between them and their total. Two offers leave room for a dessert and a drink without wearing them out.
Which items it offers
Offers come from the live POS menu:
- Sections with "drink", "side", "dessert" or "beverage" in the name, in your menu's order.
- The first three items that can be ordered right now.
- Not sections the caller already ordered from, meals, staff test items, hidden items or anything outside its hours.
- No pickup-only items on a delivery order.
A section called Extras or Puddings isn't picked up by name. Write the question yourself instead.
Writing the question yourself
In the Zogu console, add a Knowledge entry with the topic "upsell", your question ("Would you like any garlic bread?") and an answer. It must be a question, or the console won't save it. Your question goes first and counts as one of the two. The Upsell setting turns offers off.
Our team makes these changes for you. Every call has a transcript, so we can show you each offer and the reply: see how call review and the Teach page work.
Questions and answers
Will it offer a drink to someone who has already ordered one?
Not from the same section. A second drinks section, like Hot Drinks, can still be offered.
What happens if the caller just says yes?
The agent lists up to three items from that section and asks which they'd like.
Does it suggest my best sellers?
No. Zogu has no sales data. The items named depend only on your menu order and what can be ordered right now.
Does it mention deals or promotions?
No. A deal set up as a menu item can still be ordered like anything else.
